Since 2012, Dara Solomon has been the Director of the Ontario Jewish Archives, Blankenstein Family Heritage Centre. At the OJA, she has organized exhibitions at all of the Jewish community campuses around the GTA, developed a new school partnership program, and grown access to the OJA collection in social media, print, and other online initiatives. She recently oversaw a major renovation to the OJA’s facility with funding from the Federal Cultural Spaces Fund. Prior to joining the OJA, Solomon was the Curator at the Contemporary Jewish Museum (CJM) in San Francisco, where she was responsible for curating the museum’s inaugural exhibitions for their Daniel Libeskind-designed museum in the heart of San Francisco’s cultural district. During her tenure at the CJM, she curated a range of exhibitions distinguished by the innovative ways in which audiences could explore and connect with Jewish concepts, history, art, and ideas. Solomon has worked on various curatorial and education projects at the University of California, Berkeley Art Museum; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and the Whitney Museum of American Art. She holds a M.A. in Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a B.A. in Religion and Art History from University of Toronto.
