Ed Kroft of Vancouver now serves as the international president of the Society of israel Philatelists. Members of the Society are located in 24 different countries. Ed is a renowned writer and speaker on postal history and is a national judge of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada. Aside from being a tax lawyer and a Torah,Haftorah and Megillah reader for many years, Ed has written many scholarly articles on various aspects of Holy Land philately and is known as a Holy Land postal historian for his work, exhibits and expertise regarding topics such as the postal history of Rishon le Zion (1882-1948) , the early postal history and postal rates of Israel and Palestine postal history. He was profiled recently in the Canadian Jewish News and the Canadian Stamp News for his work and for his interest in acquainting non-collectors with the relevance of philately and postal history.
