Joshua Tapper

Joshua Tapper is journalist who has written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Globe and Mail, the Jewish Daily Forward, and Tablet magazine, among other publications. Currently a correspondent for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Tapper has been on staff at the Toronto Star and Moment magazine and reported widely from across North America and Russia. Away from journalism he is a master's candidate at the University of Toronto's Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies and the Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies, where his research focuses on post-Soviet Russian Jewish life and culture, Russian Jewish diaspora and the ethnography of Chabad Lubavitch Hasidim. He is also executive editor of the University of Toronto Journal of Jewish Thought. Tapper earned an a master's degree in journalism in 2010 from the Columbia Graduate of Journalism, where he specialized in magazine writing, and holds a combined honors degree in history and English from Dalhousie University, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
