Dr. Karen Mock

Dr. Karen Mock is a human rights consultant, educational psychologist and teacher educator. Former Executive Director of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation, and of the League for Human Rights of B’nai Brith Canada, Karen is one of the few people in Canada qualified by the courts and human rights tribunals as an expert on human rights, discrimination, racism, antisemitism and hate crime. Considered a pioneer in the field of multicultural anti-racist education, she is well known as a dynamic lecturer, facilitator and workshop coordinator in both the public and private sectors. Among her many volunteer and community positions, Karen was a founding member of the Anti-Racist Multicultural Education Network of Ontario, the Women’s Interfaith Dialogue, the Canadian Association of Jews and Muslims and the Arab Jewish Leadership Dialogue Group. She chaired the Canadian Multicultural Advisory Committee to the Secretary of State for Multiculturalism, the Canadian Advisory Committee for the UN World Conference Against Racism, and the Ontario Hate Crimes Community Working Group. She served as Senior Policy Advisory to then Minister of Education, Hon. Kathleen Wynne, for the development and delivery of Ontario’s Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy. She is former President of Canadian Friends of Haifa University, is presently on CIJA's Local Partnership Council and is spokesperson for JSpaceCanada. Karen has published widely and has received many awards and honours for her work -- most recently the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal “for service to her peers, community and country.”
