Sholom Eisenstat

Taskilu Resources
Toronto, Ontario
Sholom  has retired from a 35 year career teaching in Jewish day schools and public secondary schools in the Toronto area. Over the decades, he became an expert at educational technology for the classroom and an evangelist for technology integration across the curriculum. He currently consults to Jewish schools cultivating the integration of technology into Jewish Studies.

The two characters which appear in the Torah surrounding the text of Numbers 10:35-36  have a uniquely detailed documentary history and evolution that spans more than 2000 years. The presentation will cover the problematic graphic design of these marks as well as fascinating rabbinic interpretation to explain their presence in the Torah.

Sholom's interest in the 'inverted nuns' arose while he was writing a thesis for an MA in Jewish Studies at McGill University. The inquiry continues and regularly reveals new information. The latest piece will be revealed at LIMMUD!
